How long does it take for antibiotics in this case Pen VK 500mg to reduce the infection in an abscessed tooth enough for the codeine pain medication APAP 300 30 to reduce the pain?

Im on my 4th day drinking 500mg Pen VK 4 times a day for tooth abscess or whatever and my tooth still hurts. They said It can take like 6 days, try getting a glass of cold water with ice let the water get cold then put some in your mouth and hold the cold water on the tooth that hurts , It may hurt but 5 to 10 seconds later it will feel better but be ready with that water cuz it will come back
