How long does it take to withdraw from morphine?

It can vary from person to person, but on average one would expect the worst to be over in 7 to 10 days with certain less severe effects like lack of sleep to go on much longer. It is the first 3 to 4 days that are the worst with a whole host of symptoms which make the withdrawal almost unbearable. A GP or drug dependancy professional should be consulted and a realistic plan of reduction tailored to the individuals needs put in place to avoid harsh withdrawal symptoms and the risk of failure.

i am currently going through morphine withdrawal. it is 7:30 am and i am entering my 10th day of withdrawal. if anyone would have told me it would go on for this long i dont know if i could have done it. day one was very uncomfortable but after the 24 hr mark hit all holy hell broke loose. from hr 24 to hr 80 of complete abstinence of ms contin aka morphine sulfate (was using 90 mg daily) i experienced the worst hell of my entire 45 years of living. if i hadnt had my sponsor with me the entire first 80 hrs including sleeping (hahaha didnt sleep for first 6 days!!) with me in bed i GUARANTEE i would have gone back to the junk.....guaranteed. after about hr 58 i became so freaked out from the relentless intensity of the pain and lack of sleep i jumped out of bed at 3 a.m. and tore my bedroom apart scared the hell out of my sponsor and ended up kicking screaming and crying in the wreckage on the floor while she patiently cleaned the mess around me crying for me as well. after about 80 hrs of the most evil withdrawal imaginable the fire started to calm a little. i still felt ill as all hell but it made its way hr by hr out of dantes inferno and into pergatory which is where i have remained scince. i have been various levels of drug sick for 10 days now. working like this has been near impossible and i have slept 20 hrs in the last 10 days. scince hr 80 have felt like worst cold of my life, chills,sweats,bathroom issues,ravenous hungry but cant keep food in me,incessent sneazing, lost 7 lbs and was only 100lbs 2 start, insomnia and worst i think is my skin hurts like hell...my clothing kill my skin. it has been a waking nightmare but i am TODAY 10 days clean and after what i have been through i will NEVER turn back. i am not a strong person. if i can do this, YOU can do this, but you can not do this alone. count on 10 days of withdrawal at least with days 1 through 5 being some scary scary s-it. go to n.a. stay active through it. dont do it alone. good luck my fellow junkies.....

It depends on how much u do..but sometimes it will last 4 days and other times it can last up to 2 weeks
