In terms of the interaction between the two, according to the British National Formulary (the big book which doctors consult - you can access this for free if you register online) it should be fine. Providing you follow the instructions on both.

But to be honest, if you're suffering enough pain that you feel you need to take both you really need to be going to your doctor so they can possibly prescribe you something stronger.

On another point, diclofenac is prescription only anyway so you should really only be taking it when absolutely necessary and for the thing you were prescribed it for. As it masks the pain, if it's for a muscular injury, when you have already taken it it's quite possible to further damage yourself and not realise because the diclofenac masks the pain.

Difference between diclofenac sodium and potassium?

Diclofenac sodium and potassium are both nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) used to reduce pain and inflammation. The main difference lies in their salt forms: diclofenac sodium is commonly used in oral tablets and diclofenac potassium is used in some faster-acting formulations. They are both effective at treating conditions such as arthritis, but diclofenac potassium may be better tolerated by people with stomach sensitivities.

What are the differences between diclofenac potassium and diclofenac sodium in terms of their effectiveness and side effects?

Diclofenac potassium and diclofenac sodium are both nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) used to treat pain and inflammation. The main difference between them is in their chemical structure, which affects how they are absorbed in the body. Diclofenac potassium is generally faster-acting and may be more effective for some people, while diclofenac sodium is slower-acting but may have a longer-lasting effect. In terms of side effects, both medications can cause similar side effects such as stomach upset, ulcers, and kidney problems. However, diclofenac potassium may be less likely to cause gastrointestinal issues due to its faster absorption. It is important to consult with a healthcare provider to determine which medication is best for your specific needs.
