Imitrex can be a dangerous drug, causing death if taken incorrectly. Thus I cannot recommend taking it when the drug is expired. Once I did accidentally give myself an expired Imitrex stat dose shot (expired by about 6 months) and nothing happened to me.
The abbreviation "q1w" in drug dosing stands for "every 1 week." It indicates that the medication should be administered once a week. This dosing schedule helps healthcare providers ensure that patients receive their medications at appropriate intervals for optimal effectiveness.

Yes, the pill is time release. The way Concerta works is that when you take it there is an outer layer which contains about 22% of the drug just to kick it in. Then the concerta releases the drug very slowly over long periods of time. The pill is made up of 4 parts; the outside dose, a plasticy cover, and in that is the actual drug and a sponge type thing. On one of the ends is a small hole and that's where the drug is released. The sponge expands pushing the drug out, very slowly of course. The plastic that surrounds it cannot be broken down by your body, so you really never get the whole drug at once. The plastic part just just passes through the body.
