I wouldn't recommend it. Promethazine is an anti-nausea drug, while codeine is a mild narcotic and painkiller. I've taken both of those together, and it was NOT fun. I was hurt and nauseous. I also had prescriptions for both drugs.
Ecstasy is a "street" drug; you don't really know what you're getting, nor what dose. If you are sick enough to need promethazine to keep you from vomiting, you probably don't want to be taking unknown street drugs.

Can you? Yes. But it is not necessary. A pharmacist told me today that the Bromfed and Promethazine both contain an antihistamine, the promethazine being stronger. It was suggested to take either/or, but not both, preferably the Promethazine.
I know that Alpharma and Actavis are supposed to be the strongest of the cough syrups and that Acatavis bought out Alpharma and recently discontinued their Promethazine with Codeine syrup, but why are they the strongest? Why exactly are they the best if all of the different brands of cough syrup contain the same amount of promethazine and codeine as the next. If someone could elaborate on this, it'd be a great help. Thanks!
pain medications The above is correct. Codeine is an opioid that is used to block pain. However codeine is also used in medications as a cough suppressant. It can also be used for chronic diarrhea.
Yes there is. It's made by Sun Caraco Labs. I have had it prescribed twice. The only difference is the taste. From what I hear it's not as sweet as the original purple formula or the pink/red formula. The effects are the same.
No, codeine and codeine phosphate are not the same. Codeine is an opiate used as a painkiller and cough suppressant, while codeine phosphate is a salt form of codeine that is commonly used in medications for pain relief and cough suppression. The addition of phosphate to codeine can affect its solubility and how it is metabolized in the body.
no.
Are you sure the pharmacy is giving you the same brand you've always had? Color, flavor, and texture can be drastically different in different brands of the same drug. The name of the manufacturer should be on the prescription label. Most pharmacies get their drugs from wholesale distributors and many do not get to choose the brand they receive. Or if there is a shortage of the drug it may only be available from certain manufacturers. If you know it is the same brand you've always had then the manufacturer may have reformulated it for some reason. Ask at the pharmacy on your next refill if they have more than one brand in stock. Promethazine with codeine is available in generic form from many different manufacturers.
Codeine is derived from opium as is morphine and heroin. i take hydrcodone.in my drug test it showed codeine why?
No, the two drugs are entirely different chemically and purposefully. Codeine is also a narcotic!
No.
No, you cannot make lean with cetirizine. Lean, also known as purple drank, is typically made with prescription-strength cough syrup containing codeine and promethazine, along with a soft drink and sometimes hard candy. Cetirizine is an over-the-counter antihistamine used to treat allergies and does not have the same properties or effects as the ingredients used in lean. Using medications inappropriately or without medical guidance can be dangerous and is not recommended.
