2mg hydromorphone is equivalent to about 5-6mg oxycodone. Hydromorphone is more for the milligram but 6mg Oxycontin will probably produce a stronger high than 2mg hydromorphone. Or at least it has in my experience.
An M30 pill typically refers to a 30 mg dose of oxycodone, while 16 mg of Dilaudid (hydromorphone) is a strong opioid as well. Generally, oxycodone is considered to have a lower potency compared to hydromorphone on a milligram-to-milligram basis. Therefore, 16 mg of Dilaudid is likely to be stronger than a 30 mg M30 pill of oxycodone. However, individual responses to opioids can vary significantly.
Generally speaking, hydromorphone, brand name dilaudid amongst others, is in fact stronger mg to mg than oxycodone (on theory), especially as hydromorphone is said to be 6-8 times the strength of morphine. But with that high a dose of oxycodone, I'd say the oxy would be stronger given its at such a high mg. However, if the hydromorphone was at a higher level say 10-20 mg, or even 4-6 mg IV push, the hydromorphone would definitely trump that oxy. But remember, each person is different and some people react better to certain drugs as opposed to others, regardless of FDA conversion strength equivalency ratios.
Yes, approximately 3-4 times stronger
Hydromorphone is between 5 and 8 times stronger than morphine
Yes, approximately 3-4 times stronger
No, milligrams (mg) of hydromorphone do not equal milligrams of oxycodone, as they are different medications with distinct potencies and effects. Hydromorphone is typically more potent than oxycodone, meaning that a smaller dose of hydromorphone is required to achieve similar analgesic effects. Therefore, the conversion between the two medications is not a straightforward 1:1 ratio and should be done carefully under medical supervision.

Hydrocodone is Vicodin with Tylenol. Hydromorphone (aka Dilaudid) is straight Hydromorphone. No Tylenol or any other OTC meds mixed in. Obviously, Hydromorphone is much stronger. It is said that it is stronger than Oxycontin.
Hydromorphone(Diluadid) is a stronger narcotic pain reducer than Tylox(Oxycodone+Tylenol), however effecets will differ from one patient to another. Hydromorphone is 4 times stronger than a similar size dose of morphine, but is actually better at preventing serious pain than relieving it. The drug should be taken on a regular schedule, before your worst pain starts, at the same times every day. It is not a good drug for short term use. Tylox is a quick release percocet and is better at relieving serious pain in a short amount of time, but it will where off quicker and is very addictive.
