In general one should never take drugs while pregnant without first consulting your physician. Robotussin CF contains, dextromethorphan, guaifenesin, and pseudoephedrine, which may be harmful to an unborn fetus. How drugs effect the fetus are dependant upon several factors including, the fetus' stage of development and the strength and does of the drug. Harmful effects could include, miscarriage or birth defects. Also you should not take drugs while nursing without your physicians permission as they may pass to the child through the breast milk and have harmful side effects.
This is totally safe to be taken during pregnancy. But then, please take only when advised by your doctor.
Robitussin CF is a cold formula only; Robitussin DM contains the cough suppressant dextromethorphan, which, when taken in large doses, is capable of producing psychotropic effects. Robitussin CF does not contain that drug.

The CF-18 can be purchased with the intrinsically safe option but it does not come standard. If your CF-18 is intrinsically safe it will have the ratings printed on the bottom and on the door for the pcmcia slots.

Dogs can have either Zyrtec or Robitussin DM (or CF). These medications are for two different purposes, they can't be used interchangeably. Zyrtec is an allergy medication, and Robitussin is a cough suppressant. Your vet can advise you of the proper medication and dose for your dog, based on it's weight and the condition your dog has.
