If you mean grow with an infrared bulb....forget it. Wrong area of the spectrum. It would be like pointing a heat gun at your plant. Your plants need a mixture of light from different areas of the spectrum. During the growing and leaf producing period they need a more bluish light. Metal Halide lights, the high out put ones like they use to light indoor ares like warehouses & factories for example, are perfect. Make sure that its not a Mercury Vapor, the light is too white. Then later on when they are ready to bud the light needs to change to a more reddish/orange glow. The high pressure sodium lights, the ones with the amber glow, you see them being used to light parking lots and yards for instance, are excellent for this. If you can't get high output lights such as these you can use fluorescent light bulbs, such as used in the 4 foot shop lights. If you can acquire high output or very high output fluorescent lighting systems, do it, you won't regret it. What ever you decide to do be careful and TRUST NO ONE.
