In urine, alcohol will show up for about 12 hours afterwards. Very refined tests - not the kind however used in 'normal' police tests - may show by-products indicative of alcohol use for some three days afterwards, depending on how much you had to drink.
In blood, it depends a bit on your body mass and the condition of your liver . Normally it would take a reasonably healthy liver three hours per drink to get the alcohol out of your blood. So a good night on the town might show up in your blood for some 15 to 24 hours afterwards; but in ever-decreasing measure. But you could still be arrested for drunk driving when tested immediately after a heavy night and say six hours of sleep.
So it depends: moderate drinking will disappear quicker from your blood. Heavy drinking will disappear quicker from your urine. Very refined tests that search not for alcohol, but for by-products in your urine may show earlier alcohol use longest in your urine.

Well not specifically but it can show up. There are other tests that go back about 80 hours, but this one does not. However, if you drink the night before or the day of the test, it will show up.
I take a lot of drug and alcohol tests, so here's what I do know: A standard lab test will not test for alcohol unless the person ordering the test asked for a fairly new, fairly expensive alcohol test that goes back about 72 hours. I was popped on this from drinking the day before and was totally sober that day I was tested, but they were looking either for a metabolite or alcohol that's in you for 3 days or something your body produces for three days after drinking. So unless they know you are a drinker, and think they need to do this special, fairly new, fairly expensive test, you should be fine.
