If your physician says that you can stop lisinopril - usually because your blood pressure is normal, even when doses are skipped for two or three days in a row - then side effects would be less likely to occur. However, if you are being treated for high blood pressure, stopping lisinopril could lead to headaches and a potentially higher risk of stroke (and greater strain on the heart, possibly, as well).
