Lexapro is one of the more popular SSRI's to be prescribed due to being tolerated well by many people who take it. For me, the major side effects diminished within the first 7-10 days. I experienced insomnia, a giddy mood (not necessarily unpleasant, though), mild stomach and bowel irratibility and decreased libido. The longterm effects I experience on Lexapro, which are pretty common from what I understand, are difficulty urinating and decreased libido. It can cause more severe reactions in some patients.
