I have done this once before, didn't realize they were expired until after. It made me feel a bit dizzy, sweaty, and I threw up after about 45 minutes. I felt fine about 10 minutes after throwing up.

That depends on how much cough syrup you took. If it was, say, a few drops over your dose, you're fine. If you took more than a dose and a half, you can expect getting sick, i.e. vomiting sick. If you severely overdosed I recommend going to the hospital.
