Anti biotics will not cure a virus .
No, antibiotics are only effective against BACTERIAL infections and a cold is a VIRAL infection.
anti biotics should be prescribed by a doctor after examinig a child.
Anti-biotics are used to deal with bacterial infections in humans. Bacteria evolves so that these anti-biotics are ineffective anymore. For the bacteria, it is survival of the fittest. So, the more that anti-biotics are used, the faster bacteria can evolve, and so the quicker the anti-biotics become useless. That's why anti-biotics should only be used when absolutely necessary.
If it is pierced it is probably a small infection, if it isn't pierced go to a clinic and get some anti-biotics.

its a fungal infection that can be taken care of by anti fungal cream.
It means the infection is either not bacterial, or the bacteria are not sensitive to the antibiotics, or the patient is immunocompromised. but I am not a doctor
cranberries do contain sulfa. Sulfa is used in anti-biotics. Cranberry juice contains sulfa which is also a drug used in the manufacture of anti-biotics
Pathogensity is the ability of pathogen to cause infection. Highly pathogenic infections are hard to treat because of the resistance to medication. A very current and good example of this type of infection is MRSA which is highly resistant to anti-biotics, etc.
