Also know as ethylene glycol monobutyl (EGBE), it's a solvfent most often used in paints, inks and clean-up. It also has herbicidal properties and seems to be exceptionally lethal to arthropods. It's on California's list of air contaminants, but other agencies do not consider it an ecological threat.
