  • It can make you feel paranoid and/or anxious
  • It can exacerbate pre-existing psychosis
  • It can make you lazy and apathetic
  • It can make you crave food, and most often people will reach for the easy snack food that is not healthy
  • It can make you want to try other drugs (gateway drug)
  • It slows down your reaction time
  • It causes short term memory loss
  • It can become a habit
  • Smoking anything is bad for the lungs, especially marijuana because smokers tend to keep the smoke in for as long as they can to get the full effect
  • It is illegal and you might get in trouble
Rebuttal:

I disagree with the aforesaid answer in part:

  • Actually, no-one knows what causes acute schizoform paranoia, but it's certainly not marijuana.
  • As with schizoform disorders, we don't clearly understand the etiology or process of psychosis. It is inaccurate to state that marijuana exacerbates this as there's no study that examined the effects of marijuana on psychotics and no way to accurately examine the causal relationship.
  • There's no indication that it acts to increase apathy. It is actually, physioloigcally, a stimulant, but seems to have seditive qualities as well.
  • It doesn't make you crave snack food; it makes you crave ANY food :}
  • The concept of "gateway drugs 'is seriously flawed in that there is no substance that can make you want another substance. If however one chooses to believe in this concept one needs to look first a cigarettes. Research shows that almost all marijuana users tried cigarettes before trying marijuana.

welL i agree that anything we smoke is bad, but what are the truly good side affects of smoking marijuana? More then are bad from what I HEAR I am not a big smoker Just Curious?????????????/
