I believe lysine means "salt" and is added to the Ibupofen, therefore enabling it to be absorbed by the body at a much faster rate. I use it for migraine relief as it seems to work much faster than any other remedy I have tried (and there have been quite a few). I am not a doctor - just giving my opinion :)
