codeine and promethazine
I know that Alpharma and Actavis are supposed to be the strongest of the cough syrups and that Acatavis bought out Alpharma and recently discontinued their Promethazine with Codeine syrup, but why are they the strongest? Why exactly are they the best if all of the different brands of cough syrup contain the same amount of promethazine and codeine as the next. If someone could elaborate on this, it'd be a great help. Thanks!
Probably not. Promethazine is an ingredient in some cough syrups already, and has a similar effect to other ingredients commonly found in cough syrups. If you really feel strongly that you need both, you should ask your pharmacist to recommend one where there won't be an adverse drug interaction.
Both tempra drops and tempra syrups contain the same active ingredient, which is typically acetaminophen. The main difference lies in their formulation and dosing instructions. Tempra drops are more concentrated and often used for infants and young children, while tempra syrups are less concentrated and suitable for older children and adults.
Robitussin AC is Robitussin DAC without the Pseudoephedrine. The taste mimics cherries but is said to have an unpleasant after-taste. The version of Robitussin AC/Cheratussin AC with Promethazine is usually flavored peach-mint or grape/menthol. These syrups are purple instead of red. Robitussin AC and Cheratussin AC have a 3.5% alcohol content, and the versions with promethazine have 7% alcohol.....

One way to make coffee healthier is by using healthy coffee syrups that are low in sugar and made with natural ingredients. These syrups can add flavor to your coffee without the added calories and artificial ingredients found in traditional syrups. Look for options sweetened with natural sweeteners like stevia or monk fruit, and avoid syrups with high fructose corn syrup or artificial flavors.
"Oral dosage form" refers to a route of administration where the medication is taken through the mouth, such as tablets, capsules, or syrups. "Peroral dosage form" is an older term that also refers to medications taken through the mouth but is less commonly used in modern medical terminology. Both terms ultimately mean the same thing.
