What is the lethal dose for Ambien?

The answer is complicated it depends on the medication and the person taking it.

My question is why do you want to know? I am guessing either you can't sleep and are taking too much already or you want to kill yourself. Go to your doctor either way and they can help you if you are honest with them.

It is very hard to reach human lethal dosage with Ambien. Mice were dosed to 80mg/kg/day in mutagenics study and did just fine. This is the equilvalent of well over 10 times the recommended daily adult dose. And while extreme overdoses have produced coma, I can't find a single death. In short, I can't determine what the lethal dose is for ambien. There is an insufficient number of fatalities to make this assessment. However, the dose is a lot higher than you may think. You're advised to stick to the prescription with this medication.

For any over-the-counter sleeping drug, any single packet cannot contain, by law, a lethal dosage for an adult. However, from taking this many you will have nasty side-effects, such as extreme drowsiness and probably dizziness.
