Joseph Lister, an English surgeon and the father of modern antisepsis, was prompted by Burdon-Sanderson's discovery to investigate and describe in 1871 that urine samples contaminated with mould did not allow the growth of bacteria. He also described the antibacterial action on human tissue on what he called Penicillium glaucum. A nurse at King's College Hospital whose wounds did not respond to any antiseptic, was then given another substance that cured her, and Lister's registrar informed her that it was called Penicillium.
Greeks often used mouldy bread to treat wounds, so penicillin/illium has been used since ancient times, even though it had no name, and wasn't entirely understood.

Not even close. naproxen is same as aleve (NSAID for pain/inflammation...) penicillin = antibiotic
Who...? Alexander Fleming discovered pencillin in 1929.
Penicillin is a type of antibiotic that is prescribed to treat a variety of bacterial infections. Alexander Fleming is the person who found the penicillin vaccine in 1928.

Fungus
Penicillin was discovered in 1928 by Scottish scientist Alexander Fleming. He observed that a mold called Penicillium notatum inhibited the growth of bacteria, leading to the development of the first antibiotic.

No, ofloxacin is not penicillin. Ofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, which means it works by inhibiting bacterial DNA synthesis, while penicillin is a beta-lactam antibiotic that targets bacterial cell wall synthesis. They belong to different classes of antibiotics and have different mechanisms of action and spectra of activity against bacteria.
