The three types of symbiotic relationships (mutualism, commensalism, and parasitism) all involve two different species living in close association with each other. They all involve some level of dependence between the species involved, whether it is mutually beneficial (mutualism), beneficial for one species and indifferent for the other (commensalism), or beneficial for one species and harmful for the other (parasitism). These relationships can have important effects on the populations and ecosystems in which they occur.

"Drugs" is a very, very broad term. Aspirin, Cocaine, Marijuana and Benadryl are all drugs. Assuming you are talking about recreational drugs, ALL drugs have side effects (assuming the term "side effects" means an unintended effect). Hardcore drugs like crack cocaine, heroin, and steriods are known for having major side effects while drugs considered "minor" and non-addictive like Marijuana have slight side effects that can be controlled with expericience. Now, specifically the side effects of using hardcore drugs, or even strong prescription drugs like Oxycontin can be addiction, paranoia, and even physical harm, the last two not commonly being associated with prescription drugs approved by the FDA. Make no mistake, some prescription drugs can be addictive like heroin, Oxycontin being well-known for that. Marijuana's side effects range from paranoia to unintended and or unwanted sensations, cottonmouth, and some minor things, the three things I mentioned being the most serious.

ImpuritiesDrug InteractionsSide Effects & Exposure risksMany illegal drugs are not pure drugs, they are "cut" or mixed or diluted with other drugs or products like lactose. This can be extremely dangerous if drugs with same mechanism of action (pharmacology) are mixed together resulting in more intense effects and possible system failure (like breather problems due to respiratory depression etc.).Drugs can also interaction with other drugs, over the counter products, herbals or prescription drugs resulting in dangerous end results, complications or even death. You can intensify the side effects of drug use and lead to increased risk of exposure to HIV/AIDS (needle sharing) and damage to the arterial-venous capillaries due to the needle sticks.
