I was on 40 mg for 4 yrs, With my Doc blessing i went from 40 to 20 and 10 days later I have gone from 20 to 10. The 40 to 20 was 6 days of vertigo. But find myself more energetic and happier and more social. The 20 to 10 has been no problem and i plan on cutting back to 5 next week and then finally ridding myself of that dependent. It wasn't as severe as a withdrawal as what I was expecting. really no issue's
Yes, I have been taking Lexapro 5mg in am and pm for two years. However I got very bad effects from trying the cheaper generic equivalent.
2 years for 40mg & 18 months for 20mg
Until you die. There is no time limit.
I have been for about 2 years
I have been on lexapro for almost 2 years and my periodshave been very irregular since then. Sometimes I go for 5-6 months without having one then I will have 2 in a row. Before being on lexapro my periods were very predictable I always knew exactly what day I was going to start, now I never know if I am going to or not and if I do how heavy it will be. I have also gained 30 pounds being on lexapro.
I did and ended it with having my gallbladder removed and weaning off Lexapro in one week. My first problems with my gallbladder arose a couple of months into taking Lexapro for the first time years before. I stopped and then I had a pregnancy and about 5 year with no lexapro. When I had a traumatic family sitiuation I tried Lexapro again and again a couple of months into it I started to have gallbladder attacks. I took one lexapro after my surgery and it made me so sick I have vowed to never touch it again. It sucked because it really did great for my anxiety.
No. The credit rating shows if you're a credit risk. Not paying a debt for seven years is a credit risk, there's no reason to expect you could just wait it out and have a clean sheet.
I am on my fourth day of quitting Lexapro cold turkey. Yes, I am itching! I am hoping that this goes away, along with a nagging dizziness if I turn my head too fast or stand up abruptly
I have been taking lexapro for years and have gained a total of 20 lbs and my eating habits have never changed I blame the lexapro and now I will slowly stop taking it due to this fact.I've tried losing the weight just about starving myself ,walking nothing works I truly believe it is the lexapro>
It all depends on how much the property has gone up in value.
I switched from 10mg lexapro to 30 mg cymbalta for 2 wk and then 60 mg. Have had good results. For one thing I quit gaining weight, as I did on lexapro. Cymbalta also helped my muscle aches and pains as an added plus.
I don't know about "short while", as I'm not sure how long you mean. A few months? A few years? How long is "short" vs. "long" to you? I took Lexapro for about 3 years straight. Currently, 4-5 years after quitting Lexapro, my formerly normal libido has NOT returned to what I recall as a "normal" level. In fact, it's hardly there at all. I don't know if this is due to general life stress or Lexapro, but I had plenty of the same stress BEFORE I went on Lexapro, so I'm suspecting the drug had/still has something to do with it. This drug is still fairly "new" to market, and little is known about long term side effects - the manufacturers and FDA don't usually research the side effects exhaustively before approving a new drug.
