In most countries, medicines for depression have to be prescribed by a doctor. Pharmacies are not allowed to seel them over-the-counter. Sometimes medicine is not even prescribed, but rather therapy or a change of lifestyle. The medicine - or medicines, there may be more than one - best suited to a person's particular requirement will often only be found by trial and error. I was put on several before my current prescription - which seems to be working best for me - was arrived at. Just because someone else in using product X or Y doesn't mean it would suit you. There are several different types of medicines and not all of them work in the same way. Then there are side-effects which may be worse with some people using a product than they are with other people on the same product. In general - don't take anyone's advice without consulting a doctor.
