This is very complicated and there are thousands of formulas on how to price drugs. The problem comes in when insurance is involved. Most every pharmacy will need to average about 10-15 dollars per prescription to stay afloat. Unfortunately because of insurances sometimes we may only get pennies above cost for a drug. Some drugs seem to have outrageous mark ups while others have none at all. It is mostly from price fixing by insurance companies and a even less understood system we use call average wholesale price. I don't completely understand all of it but I do see where we sometimes receive less than cost for some medications and might make 50-75 dollars on others. The best reimbursments come from generics, so they not only save the patient money, but also do better for the pharmacy. I hope this helps some. In other words, there is no set why to price drugs and each pharmacy will probably do it differently.
It depends on which medication it is, whether or not you have insurance, and how much the insurance covers.
It depends on your insurance. Most insurance will cover some of the cost, the same as other prescriptions.
Some goods are sold below their cost price because the government believe that the good is essential, for example, prescriptions from doctors, we need these so the government have a set price of £9 no matter what the prescription is.
Of course. You pay for any prescription you receive unless your insurance pays 100% of the cost.
Ferraris cost so much because they are a foreign brand. (EX:Chevrolet Corvettes cost a lot less, and they're just as fast.)
Depending how much they take in

Prescriptions are filled at a pharmacy.

Dentists write prescriptions for pain medication and antibiotics. They would not write prescriptions for depression medication. They write prescriptions that deal with dental issues.
