Yes, you can generally take Tylenol 3 (which contains acetaminophen and codeine) with lisinopril 20 mg and hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ). There are no direct interactions between these medications. However, it's always best to consult with your healthcare provider or pharmacist before combining medications to ensure safety and appropriateness for your individual health situation.
I have taken them both for 21 years ....lisinopril twice a day and bisoprolo/hctz 5mg/6.25mg three times daily....no problems and no erectile problems here....feel like I am 17 again.
Lisinopril-hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) 20-12.5 mg is typically a light blue or blue-colored tablet. However, the appearance can vary by manufacturer, so it's essential to check the specific product packaging or consult a pharmacist for confirmation. Always ensure you're referencing the correct medication, as colors can change between different brands or generics.
No, hctz contains hydrochlorothiazide as the only active drug.
It did for me! I had an allergic reaction to something, probably the lisinopril. I ended up in the ER with hives, tightness in the chest/esophagus, and difficulty swallowing. I was given an epi pen shot, Benadryl via IV, and a Rx for prednisone when I was released. They also did the bloodwork for a heart attack. I immed. went off the lisinopril. I should have gained weight this past week as the steroid is suposed to cause fluid retention. Instead, I dropped four pounds and my bloated abdomen returned to normal. I supect I was really retaining fluids with the lisinopril. I was excercising quite a bit and couldn't lose weight. The nurse in the E.R. told me that they see 2-3 people a week with allergic reactions to ACE inhibitiors, of which lisinopril is one. My internist also said that the reaction was most likely from the lisinopril. I was on it for about two years before this occurred. The effects can really creep up on you-lethargy, weight gain, foggy thinking, sore legs. I believe this is a very dangerous drug.
HCTZ is the generic name - it stands for hydrochlorothiazide.
Both of these medications are generally safe, and are not often associated with acute toxicity. The LD50 for both is astronomical, and that's only 50%. Lisinopril is usually dosed at 30-40mg once a day, with rare dosages going as high as 80mg. Hydrochlorothiazide is dosed at 25-50mg once daily. In combination, the starting dosage of either or both probably will be considerably lower, as these medications interact.
