If you use drugs for recreational purposes (as opposed to using them for medical purposes, as prescribed by your doctor) this does reflect laziness, since true happiness comes from accomplishment in the real world, not from chemical alterations to your own brain. Since it is easier to induce fake happiness than it is to obtain real happiness, that leads to a habit of laziness. Weakness will also follow, since these drugs are not good for your mental, physical, or financial health.
