A doctor would need to prescribe all the medicines together to help with social anxiety. Usually a person only needs one or two pills to help with anxiety issues. Speak with your healthcare provider for more details.
presumably this med duo aide with management of anxiety with preexisting depression
You would have to be very careful about the Abilify dosage. Abilify is metabolized by an enzyme, CYP 2D6, both Wellbutrin and Prozac inhibits that enzyme. This will result in increased levels of Abilify.
#1 : If your doctor prescribes it. I am prescribed 10mg Abilify and 20mg Prozac for possible bi-polar disorder. The Prozac gets rid of the depression, and the Abilify gets rid of the Mania: they meet in the middle, or that's how my dr. explained it to me.
What are the side effects of taking Abilify and Prozak together? Is it a good idea to take both. My 18 year old son is taking them.
Prozac
Sometimes SSRIs like Lexapro and benzodiazepines like Klonopin need to be adjusted, or you need to just find a different medication that doesn't cause bad side effects. For example, to replace the Lexapro, there are drugs such as Prozac and Zoloft, and to replace the Klonopin (if you think that is causing you more side effects) there are drugs such as Ativan and Xanax. Good luck!
Most anti Anxiety medication like Prozac, Xanax (Alprazolam),Klonopin (clonazepam). Also Valium (diazepam), Serax (Oxazepam), Ativan (lorazepam), Halcion (Triazolam ),Rohypnol, Roofies, Tranks,Chlordiazepoxide (Klopoxid, Librax, Librium),Dalmane (Flurazepam), etc..
Abilify increases the effectiveness of certain drugs that work on your nervous system and brain. So no. I took darvocet and abilify and ended up having odd OCD type of thoughts and had so much nervous energy w/a broken bone. Not good.
I've been taking 80mg of Prozac and 300mg of Wellbutrin daily for two months. Four days ago I added .5mg of Klonopin twice daily. Thus far, I haven't noticed any side effects at all. The Klonopin seems to have kicked in quickly and filled the gap on handling my anxiety (which is why it was prescribed). My feeling is that stabilizing on a medication before adding others into the regimen helps you find your balance. Starting on more than one medication at a time can make it confusing in sorting out how your moods / stability are being affected, and what is actually working. If anything changes, I will update this. Good Health, R
Prozac (fluoxetine) and Ativan (lorazepam) serve different purposes; Prozac is an antidepressant, while Ativan is a benzodiazepine used for anxiety. Some healthcare providers might consider using an antidepressant like Prozac to help manage anxiety as part of a tapering plan for Ativan, but this should be done under medical supervision. It's essential to consult with a healthcare professional for a tailored approach to safely discontinue Ativan.
Really helpful breakdown of how hormones like cortisol impact weight loss. I’ve actually been looking into the question “prozac for anxiety?” since I know it’s often prescribed for anxiety and depression. From what I’ve learned, Prozac (fluoxetine) may help balance cortisol levels indirectly by improving mood and reducing chronic stress over time—but it's not a direct cortisol-lowering medication. If anyone’s exploring options for anxiety or mood-related issues, I highly recommend checking out Daybreak Telepsych. They offer virtual psychiatric care with licensed professionals who can guide you through personalized treatment—medication or therapy—from the comfort of home. Super convenient and professional!
Xanax and Prozac have a moderate Interaction, Prozac Inhibits The Metabolism of Xanax, So Caution Should Be Used As It Can Increase The Sedation and other effects of Xanax, Prozac can increase Xanax's half-life by 17% Reduce's Clearance and Potentate's Xanax's Sedating Effects. Talk With A Pharmacist or Doctor.. i just took 4mg's of xanax with 20mg of Prozac and i had no increased sedation... in fact i found a decrese in sedation. so just be careful. everyone is different. and the person who wrote the previous answer is an idiot and should have done his reserch.
