Suboxone or Buprenorphine is a semi synthetic opioid. It has partial agonist activity at the µ-opioid receptor, partial or full agonist activity at the ORL1/nociceptin receptor, and competitive antagonist activity at thekappa, and antagonist activity at the delta opioid receptors. In simple terms, if there are no other opiates/opioids in the system for the suboxone to compete with, then it is an agonist and will work like heroin etc. and prevent you from being sick. If heroin or other opiates are taken while Suboxone is in the system then it becomes an antagonist, meaning that it will block the opiate receptor from absorbing the opiates and therefore will cause sickness.
If Suboxone is taken incorrectly, or if it is abused, it can cause strong and even immediate symptoms of opiate withdrawal and detox.
Some people say that even after 24 hours they do not feel the dope.
It has a half life of 20-70 hours, on average it's around 37 hours. So if you are really bugging for a shot (and don't wanna risk getting sick), it's best to wait at least 36 hours after the last dose of suboxone.
Some people have reported being able to feel the effects of heroin while Suboxone is still actively in the system, but this maybe an addiction to injecting alone and therefore the actual act of injecting has caused an adrenaline rush that the user has mistaken for the effects of heroin.
If you really want some good advice, (from someone who knows what they're on about too), stick to your Suboxone and forget your shot. Go do something good for you that you enjoy doing, such as exercise or whatever floats your boat. If you are doing an activity you enjoy, the receptors release hormones that make you feel good! It'll be better for you in the long run!

You take suboxone but you need something anxiety?
Yes this is a common side effect of suboxone. I struggled with taking xanax with suboxone for awhile which is very dangerous to do, but I cut my dose of suboxone back to only 8mg a day, and that really seemed to help. I still get anxiety daily, and ALWAYS want xanax but have been able to not take any. I am taking an anti-depresiant type drug called Sevalla now and it helps alot with the anxiety. My suboxone Dr. recommended it to me because of my anxiety. Maybe ask your doc about paxil or some type of non-narcotic anti-anxiety or anti-depresant. I hate to say but if you did real dope for a long period of time and are now on suboxone, that anxiety feeling is there to stay, there's nothing you can really do to make it go away completely except taking benzos, and believe me you do not want to go down that road, cause it only leads you back to the addictive personality that lead you to suboxone in the first place. After stopping suboxone how long does it take to get high?
If you are taking Suboxone, chances are it is to detox off of, or safely maintain an opiate addiction. A doctor and/or a fellow recovering addict would of course tell you stay on the Sbx, switch to methadone, or stay clean altogether BUT If it is your intent to get high again you should be able to do so when the buprenorphine clears your opiate receptors in around 48 hours. BE AWARE YOU ARE TAKING A BIGGER RISK THAN NORMAL using dope right after Sbx. because the "shot" size that you used before is not going to necessarily the right one now making the possibility of O.D.'ing very real DO NOT use the Suboxone IV, there is Narcan in it for just that reason and will make you "sick".If you have Suboxone left over, in the interest of damage-control for you and society, SAVE IT. If you have been on 16mg of suboxone for about a month and havent taken them in 3 days now and you want to get highi tried doin sum heroin and it still didnt work when can you get high again?
maybe you got crappy dope. but 16 mg of sub. a day is pretty serious, and if you eat it it stays in your system for a while, up to 72 hours (3 days.) i think. my advice is to try to stay on suboxone... its a lot better than heroin... but if you wait a day or two more you can probably get high off dope no prob... but im not suggesting that at all... your life your choice good luck
