Most Copts would argue quite fervently that they are not Arabs and are, instead, the descendents of the Egyptians from the time of the Pharaohs. Some Copts even make the argument that most Muslim Egyptians are also descendants of Pharaonic Egyptians who had been converted by the small number of Arabian Arabs to Islam and the Arabized. If the Copts are (properly) not considered to be Arabs, but the Muslim Egyptians are, Egypt is 90% Arab. If the Copts are considered to be Arabs, Egypt is >99% Arab.
