In regards to weather, Papua New Guinea is very humid and tropical. Meaning hot sun and rain; but in the Highlands it is very cold and cool. This answer is opinionated, will vary from individual to individual. As a Papua New Guinean, grown in Australia my point of view along with many others is Papua New Guinea is still developing. It is a very colourful and diverse country that still has poverty present. To many, Papua new Guinea is a "cool" place because of the many cultures, diversities and island/pacifica life. Though there has been a scare of crime rate and safety (due to poverty, mostly in the capital city; Port Moresby), the islands and villages make up for it. Definately in near future, with more developments, Papua New Guinea will be a very "cool" place.
It depends on the species.Bennett's Tree Kangaroo and Lumholtz's Tree Kangaroo both live in the rainforests of Cape York in Far North Queensland, Australia. There are also numerous species of tree kangaroo on the island of New Guinea, which comprises the countries of Papua New Guinea and Irian Jaya (Indonesia). These tree kangaroos are commonly found in the mountainous rainforests of the island. Several species live in lowlands, for example, the Lowlands Tree-Kangaroo.

Sugar gliders live in rainforests and bushland (both wet and dry sclerophyll forest) ranging from cool-temperate climates, such as that found in Tasmania, to warmer, humid climates of northern Australia, Papua New Guinea and some islands of Indonesia. They prefer drier bushland rather than moist rainforest.

Wild guinea pigs, native to the Andes mountains in South America, typically live in temperate climates with cool temperatures and moderate humidity levels. They are found in grasslands, shrublands, and forested areas at elevations ranging from 3,000 to 13,000 feet.

Sugar gliders are found in Australia (including its island state of Tasmania), Indonesia, and Papua-New Guinea. They were originally native to Australia, but easily spread to other northern islands. Climatic conditions preferred by sugar gliders include rainforests and bushland (both wet and dry sclerophyll forest). They can adapt to cool-temperate climates, such as that found in Tasmania, and warmer, humid climates of northern Australia, but they are healthiest in drier bushland rather than moist rainforest. Sugar gliders shelter in tree hollows.
