Im guessing your talking about the Trail of Tears. Yeah, they probably could have not removed the Indians or somehow worked around them, since the Indians did win many trials on the Indian removal act. The least they could have done was actually let them pack and give them help when they were moving rather than abusing them.
Native Americans were removed from their lands by the use of Force (threat of death) and by Treaty (often backed by the use of Force).
Americans wanted Native Americans to move west of the Mississippi River primarily to access and settle the fertile lands in the east for agriculture and development. The U.S. government and settlers viewed this westward expansion as essential for economic growth and the spread of American culture. Additionally, removing Native Americans was seen as a way to reduce conflicts and tensions over land ownership and resources. This policy culminated in forced relocations, such as the Trail of Tears, which had devastating effects on indigenous populations.

Native Americans did have the genetic ability to grow facial hair, but many tribes practiced grooming traditions that involved removing facial hair. This was often done for cultural or ceremonial reasons, rather than due to a lack of ability to grow beards.

@boobies: Wow, as much as I like that answer, it's wrong. The Native Americans were guided incorrectly by the soldiers guarding them. So after a while, they some of them died from hunger and cold temperatures.

If you are asking about Native Americans in the United States the government didn't want changes but wanted them dead or on reservations. The different tribes made treaties with the government, but the government broke the treaties they made with them. Each tribe is a separate nation within the United States, so they expected the government to uphold their agreements. Instead federal troops raided villages and killed men, women, and children or did things like the Trail of Tears removing people from ancestral lands.
