of course there was a ban. they just fought a war, so they wouldn't want to help each other
One of the first actions for the participants during a war is to embargo all trade to your opponent. Trade from America to Europe had to go by sea and Britain, (the main enemy of Napoleon), had the largest navy, by a long way. Napoleon was using other European countries to place a trade embargo on Britain, so it was only right for Britain to do the same, which hurt trade to and from America. This was especially so between 1812 and 1815 when America declared war on Britain and her dependencies.
Britain did not help America win the Revolutionary War.
It's the war the united states had with Britain. Britain had a very good army bit America did win the war. This war was important because it effected trade. What happened was that France and Britain stopped trading with America and kept picking on them so finally America declared war but right before France and Britain took off the trading cap. Since it takes so long for word to travel it took to long for the message to get to the capital and the war had already started.

since Canada was part of Britain before if Canada went to war then Canada will immediately enter the war as well

The U.S. had a close relationship with Great Britain, and the war interfered with trade.
The effects from the Revolutionary War on America was that it was a free country. It could now trade with anyone they want and didn't have to follow Great Britain's orders.
After the Revolutionary War America won freedom from Britain.
Britain has always traded with North America. Canada has never ceased to be part of the Commonwealth, and has always traded with Britain. The U.S.A. has traded with Britian except when they were on opposite sides in a war, as in 1812.
