North Korea had no atomic bombs at the time of the Korean War. What Truman was concerned about was the Soviet atomic bombs and the high probability that Stalin would respond to our use of atomic bombs in that conflict by declaring full scale nuclear war on the US.
The biggest result was no weapons of mass destruction were used, like the atomic bombs used in WWII. The Korean War was a 'limited war."
After the second atomic bomb was dropped over Nagasaki, there were no more bomb drooped in war until the Korean war.
Initially MacArthur (until he suggested using Atomic Bombs and got fired) then Ridgway.
None. An Atomic Bomb was dropped on Hiroshima (Japan) on 06 August 1945, which along with the Nagasaki (Japan) Atomic Bomb dropped on 09 August 1945, brought an end to World War Two. At present, that was the FIRST and LAST time atomic weapons have been used in war. The Korean War started 5 years later and in a different country (Korea).
No atomic bombs were used in the Korean War and there were never any plans to use them. Possibly the existence of atomic weapons had some small effect.

General MacArthur wanted atomic bombs for use in the Korean War, but he was denied their use by President Truman. Only two atomic bombs have been used in warfare to date, both in WWII against Japan.

The atomic bombs did not prepare for war, those bombs were the end of the war.

Britain and Germany, amongst others, were also developing atomic bombs. You don't allow your enemies in a war know what you are doing!

Total war means atomic bombs.
The WW2 B-29 Superfortress (the same type that dropped the atomic bombs) were used during the Korean War.
Iron bombs are used today to separate them from atomic/flame/and smart bombs. During WW1 & WW2 there was only a need to use the terms fire bombs or general purpose bombs (High Explosive). During the Korean War, we had to separate the atomic bomb from fire bombs and general purpose bombs. During the Vietnam War, the same separations had to be termed. By the end of the Vietnam War in 1975, SMART Weapons had to be added to the ATOMIC, FIRE, GENERAL PURPOSE bombs...so the accepted term for General Purpose (High Explosive) bombs came to be known as IRON BOMBS; aka Dumb Bombs.
