From a European perspective, he "discovered" what are now called the West Indies, in the sense that Priestly "discovered" oxygen.
Christopher Columbus was cerainly not inspired to be an explorer by his father but in 1476 he sailed on his first expedition so that might have inspired him to become a real explorer.
because they were bored so they wantted to go to something
Christopher Columbus did not conquer any country. Hernando cortés conquerd the Aztecs and Francisco pizzaro conquered the incas. Christoper columbus went out to go and try to find the America's. Instead he found the Asia. He tried to find it but didnt. So Christopher Columbus didn't conquer anyone. 😄
they are important because if those explorers like Christopher Columbus didnt go out to find new places or anything than life would be different from this day and we wouldnt pretty much have much things that we have today.
There was no UK when Columbus lived. There were the independent kingdoms of England and Scotland, with Wales by then subject to England and Ireland in the process of subjugation. The Columbus and the rest of Europe already knew that England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales existed so neither he nor anyone else needed to find them.
So he could contribute to his country, Spain... Plus he was still after what he was looking for which was the Indies (on his first expedition he found the Bahamas)
It was the end of a 700+ year effort to defeat the Moors and return the Iberian peninsula to Christian control. It was also the year Columbus' expedition left to find a new route to the Indies.
Well, he was 25, born in 1451, so lets see, 1451 - 25 ------- have fun with subbtraction!
Spain paid for it yeah, Spain paid for it. but specificly queen of England thought there would be riches in the land so that's why.

He went on the expedition so he could find a all water route and to explore the new land,
So he could give King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella their gold, spices, sliks, spread. Christanity-lead expedition to china.
People think Christopher Columbus but ACTUALLY its the Indians that helped him get used to America so, Not Christopher Columbus the Indians are the 1st to find America
No,he didn`t find it. A man named Amerigo found it.
