Germany didn't necessarily hate Russia pervious to WWII Germany was allied with them and Stalin thought he was in control. But in truth Hitler was just stalling russia because they were a superpower.

The Germans held very mixed feelings about Hitler. From one perspective, he was stepping up as a leader to unite the Germanic countries and force Germany out of severe debt. On the other hand, he was manipulating the German people with private, sinister motivations to scapegoat a large group of people and murder them. If he had more coherent and beneficent motivations, he may have been one of the best leaders that Germany has seen. Instead, he tarnished the German name by associating it with his Nazi organization.

Make no mistake; there were many followers of Hitler at the time of his reign, but there were many who sympathized with the Jewish and others who were targeted by the Nazi attacks.

Germany did not particularly hate Russia during WW II. Germany was engaged in a project of world conquest, and since Russia was a rather large part of the world, Germany felt a need to conquer it. The Germans, operating on the theory that they belonged to an Aryan race of supermen, did consider themselves to be superior to the Russians, who are members of the Slavic ethnicity, but the Germans did not hate Slavs the way they hated Jews. Slavs were thought to be just an inferior race, not an evil race.
