Hitler's father was a drunken abuser on a continuous power trip, a control freak. He seems to have treated his son harshly. Many such men seem to find weak women who tolerate this sort of life, like Hitler's mother. She loved him, but was powerless to make his life happier, because of his father.

No, towards the start of his political career he began to alienate much of his family, in seemed as though he had done this in order to keep them out of the political limelight to avoid the German people to look into his past, little records are kept of Hitler before his military career in WW1
