The Treaty of Ghent returned everything to pre-war conditions. As such, the war could be considered a draw, and there wasn't really any 'success' or 'failure' on either side, other than the lives lost.
For the Americans to win they would have had to defeat an entire British army as was done at Yorktown, thus forcing the British to give up and leave. As it was, the War of 1812 was simply called off without a winner, as a provision of the Treaty of Ghent.

No, the Americans did not win the Battle of Stoney Creek during the War of 1812. The battle, fought on June 6-7, 1813, resulted in a decisive victory for the British forces. The American troops, under General William Harrison, were outmaneuvered and forced to retreat, which allowed the British to maintain control over the area around Lake Ontario. This defeat hindered American plans to advance into Canada.

No one won the war, it ended because Americans and the British signed a treaty called Treaty of Ghent and no one gained anything no money or land so the war was really pointless in my opinion.
