Yes, the Ming dynasty, which ruled from 1368 to 1644, effectively pushed the Mongols out of China. After the fall of the Yuan dynasty, established by the Mongols, the Ming emperors launched military campaigns to reclaim territories and consolidate power. They reinforced the Great Wall and established a strong military presence to deter further Mongol invasions. As a result, the Ming dynasty maintained control over China and significantly reduced Mongol influence in the region.

It is very possible that one of the Yaroslavs inflicted a defeat on the Mongols, at some time or other as history records many famous Yaroslavs, from Princes to Kings and Generals etc. down the centuries. The mongol armies were far from invincible, for example on several occassions they were defeated in 13th century Croatia, even right at the height of their power. They were defeated in 13th century Poland at Krakow and on numerous occassions in Hungary, though some of the defeats in Hungary are disputed by modern historians. They found central/western Europe very hard to conquer and were often defeated by castle fortifications. Though the Mongols did find Russia and China much easier to conquer, even in these two places they were eventually overthrown. Muscovy stopped paying any tribute to the Mongols in the late 15th century and China managed to push back the last mongol invasion/civil war in the late 15th century too.

The primary focus of the map of China from 1895 to 1914 illustrates the significant territorial and political changes during a period of intense foreign influence and internal strife. This era saw the rise of imperialism, with Western powers and Japan gaining control over various regions, leading to unequal treaties and the establishment of foreign concessions. Additionally, the map reflects the impact of the Boxer Rebellion, the fall of the Qing Dynasty, and the growing push for modernization and reform within China as it faced external pressures and internal challenges.

It gave the rebellions strength.
In the 19th century, China was motivated to launch its self-strengthening movement primarily due to the increasing pressure from Western powers and military defeats, notably in the Opium Wars. The realization that its traditional imperial system was inadequate for resisting foreign encroachment led to a push for modernization in military, industrial, and educational sectors. Leaders sought to adopt Western technology and practices while maintaining Confucian values, aiming to strengthen China's sovereignty and improve its global standing. This movement was also a response to internal strife, including rebellions and the desire to rejuvenate the Qing dynasty.
