Yes
While cassette tapes have largely been replaced by digital formats, they have seen a resurgence among collectors and enthusiasts for their nostalgic value and unique sound quality. Some musicians and independent labels still produce music on cassette as a retro format. Cassette tape recorders are less common today, but they are still used by a niche audience for recording or playing vintage music. Overall, while not mainstream, cassettes and their recorders still have a presence in certain circles.
Yes they do.
The company Maxwell (part of Hitachi) still produce cassettes of up to 150 minutes of length. The company also deals in videos, batteries, CD and DVD formats.
Yes, although tape recorders has been overtook by digital voice recorders in recent years. These could possibly be found in second hand shops or thrift shops.
Cassettes are less readily available now then 10 years ago. They can, however, still be purchased through BestBuy, eBay or Amazon. Some stores, like BestBuy or FutureShop still have limited quantities in store. Thrift shops are also an option in your local neighbourhood.
Surprisingly, the word "audio" for French, is actually "audio". Still, it is pronounced differently.
Hi, Open reel tapes are equivelent to tapes like used on the older reel to reel tape recorders. They used to have open reel tapes for audio and video recorders. Many are still in use today. Open reel tapes had to be hand threaded through the tape transport whereas a cassette tape is self contained and the transport handles all the unloading and loading functions. Hope this helps, Cubby
Magnets are or rather were used to record audio or video on cassettes media earlier (which had/have magnetic tape in them on which data was recorded using magnet), which have now (still used) but taken over by optical media (CDs, DVDs, Blurays). Hard Disks/Drives in computer also use magnets to record on them.
