Some do. The only official group of native americans in Maryland is the Piscataway. They have applied for official status from the state and I think they have it. There is a wikipedia page on them called: Piscataway Indian Nation and Tayac Territory

Meanwhile the link below will take you to a site about the history of Indians in Maryland. A few different tribes migrated to different parts, and they would have been cohesive groups that moved as one complete unit when they moved, so wouldn't have left many people behind - and if you separate from the group you lose your identity so you might not even continue to consider yourself one of the tribe. I would like to know more about it, but I think it would be necessary to do hands on research in Maryland to find the answer. Start interviewing people anywhere at all in the state until you find an indigenous american who can tell you something about their history - because it is not officially recorded.
