The British have done, have had an effect in world politics,in the not too distant past. Who can say what the future holds ? As a nation, and obviously this is a subjective view, the British role in world history compares favourably with any nation. Certainly there have been errors and mistakes, but I suggest the decline of the British Empire has been at least as good for the world as any loss of supremacy that has ever happened, without exception. and yes, Great Britain was the greatest power that the world has ever seen at one time.....
