YEs....when europeans came to the new world they found Indians here already. Since the Americans had fight they learned a great deal and helped them defeat the british in the revolution....
The research into that question continues and new archaeological finds are constantly adding to our knowledge of the very earliest native Americans. They may have been "here" (wherever that is) for over 40,000 years before Columbus arrived.

Native Americans never migrated to the Americas. It was the Europeans that migrated here and the only thing they found was Native Americans. Native Americans have been here since the beginning. Hence the name Native AMERICANS.
