George Washington is revered by many Americans as a great hero in America's revolutionary war. Washington was a Virginian boy who was considered a great fighter in the Continental (rebel) Army. He worked hard for freedom. He was appointed to a general...later on after the people who are called "founding fathers" saw how he fought and truly cared about the cause. He lead the rebal army into perilous battles, he persisted them to go on, George was clever man when it came to the British Army's position and getting there to attack or capture a fort. George had good stratigies. He did not bother training his men since he thought that it was unecessary. Men in the army were always leaving when their term of service ended. Several were not loyal but who would want to stay in the harsh conditions that a colonial rebel solider had to endure-hunger, lack of training, weahter conditions, sickness, and being tired. George was considered a leader. He did lead the Americans to the freedom that they wanted from us (Britain). He was the first president as well. He has his own holiday in the United States.
