Better read Sir Ian Kershaw's biography ( Hitler 1889-1936: Hubris, (London, 1998) ).

There was an unlikely succession of people and institutions who tried to use him to their advantage, then were themselves the victims of another power using Hitler against them.

An example: Stalin saved him from a military coup by signing the Ribbentrop-Molotov agreement. By doing that, Stalin dealt a blow to the western allies, and enabled Hitler to purge the army. Of course, about 3 years later, Stalin got back stabbed by the Nazis...
