He greatly admired Mussolini and occasionally tried to copy things that Mussolini had previously done- notably, Hitler's "Beer Hall Putsch" was his attempt to copy Mussolini's "March on Rome". Hitler's admiration continued even when he became dictator of Germany, although Mussolini did not return the love.

Once Mussolini began invading other countries, and Hitler was the only world leader to express support for him, did Mussolini finally relent and become friends and allies with the Nazi leader.
