they are actually called Native Americans. and they survived in Maine by knowing about their surroundings. they knewhow to fish, hunt, and they knew how to make houses to keep them warm. they knew all of this and then taught all of the Englishmen how to live in the wilderness when they immigrated here. the abbinakis were one of the first tribes in Maine then the Englishmen got greedy and took over their land, no offense. but it is true.
