How did Lend Lease Act help Russia?

The American Lend Lease help was very important for Russians, especially because from June 22 1941 and until opening Second Front on D-day June 6, 1944 Russians were fighting mighty German army practically alone. Being on the verge of collapse in 1941 and again in 1942 Russians needed all the help they could get. On the other hand American supplies was only one of many factors in Russian victory and they amounted to only about 11% of total Russian war time production.

Especially remembered American canned meat that helped prevent starvation and was nicknamed "Second Front" since it was real American help to Russians while real Second Front was delayed until 1944. Also remembered American vehicles that made Russian army more mobile than still most horse driven German army. Tanks, planes and guns constituted very small part of American help, they were mostly domestic.
