Qin Shihuangdi become king of the Qin state in 246 BC. But he did unify China until 221 BC. He died 210 BC, after ruling China for only eleven years.
It was the first dynasty to unify China under one empire, and created MOST of the Great Wall ! (: ~ Hope this helps ! (:
First off, the army did not build the Great Wall of China. It was built by peasants and convicts under the rule of Qin Shihuandi, in the Qin dynasty. There was no given time frame, they were just to complete it as fast as possible. I'm afraid I do not know how many years it took to complete, as it was also added to by the Ming dynasty.
He built a portion of the great wall but it collapsed when the Han Dynasty ruled.
