During the Victorian era, cooking was done mostly on wood-fired stoves, with perhaps some gas-fired stoves coming in late in the period. I don't know if the technology for electric ranges was available at that time, and I'm pretty sure they didn't have microwave ovens, either. Wood and Coal were it, probably.
