The slaves offered to cook for the confederate soldiers and they offered medical attention to wounded soldiers of the Confederate Army. And if I'm not mistaken, there were slaves that volunteered to fight with our confederate soldiers against the Union Army. I haven't read up on the history of the Civil War in a long time but there are a few things that I do remember reading about. So no matter what blacks or anyone else has to say about our confederate history and heritage, the slaves were not obligated to do anything during this war but offered to help our troops out.
