The Armenian Genocide, which occurred during World War I, elicited a range of reactions from other countries, largely characterized by condemnation and calls for intervention. Some nations, particularly those with significant Armenian populations, expressed outrage and provided humanitarian assistance. However, many countries, including major powers of the time, largely prioritized their strategic interests over humanitarian concerns, leading to limited concrete actions against the Ottoman Empire. Ultimately, the global response was marked by a combination of sympathy for the Armenians and political expediency, resulting in insufficient measures to prevent or stop the atrocities.
At first, the colonists did not mind the policies; but eventually got fed up with it. The navigation acts had pushed them over the edge, so merchants started to smuggle their goods over to other countries.

The United Nations did not exist at the time of the Armenian genocide, which occurred between 1915 and 1923. However, in the years following World War II, the UN has recognized the importance of preventing such atrocities and has established conventions, like the Genocide Convention of 1948. The UN has also acknowledged the Armenian genocide through various resolutions and statements, particularly in the context of promoting awareness and historical recognition. Despite this, the UN's actions have often been limited by political considerations and the reluctance of some member states to formally recognize the genocide.
Most countries, while expressing "regret and sadness" did not actually do anything about the Cambodian genocide. The only party that intervened was the Communist Vietnamese army, which after having a number of border skirmishes with the Khmer Rouge, took the opportunity to evict them from Phnom Penh and end the genocide, 4 years and 1.5 Million Cambodians later.

The internation community condemned the genocide. The Allied victors demanded, after the war, that the Ottoman government prosecute the Young Turks occused of wartime crimes. however, nothing was ever really done. Because it was not a genocide but a war. The Armenians had began to attack the Ottoman army and the Ottomans responsed. Besides the war, there were civil killings from both sides. Ottoman Empire hanged many Turks as a punishment. Nothing was done to Armenians who killed civil Turks. They were only banished from Turkish soil.
